While running outdoors hiking walking, pay attention to your surroundings. I remember some time ago, while living in Boston; a young lady was running during the day in a busy street. This young lady had earphones on, was not paying attention to her surroundings, and was struck by a vehicle. This was a tragic incident young lady didn’t survive the accident. When you are going out for a run, make sure your attire makes you visible to the motorist. Allowing yourself to be visible to motorists and pedestrians is essential for your safety. Incidents that can affect your safety can be avoided while you’re out on your walk, jog, etc. Wearing bright colors on your cap, shirt, shorts, and shoes makes you visible to motorists.

The Burn

Often and during a vigorous run or work out our muscles tend to burn. What is causing the burn.? The cause is the decreased amount of oxygen that cannot convert into energy in the muscle causing a buildup of lactate. The best way to relieve the burn is to slow down your pace and then pick it up afterward. However, if the pain is severe, it is best to stop and stretch. Let your muscles recover and prepare for the next day.

It is said, “whatever you receive in life is in direct proportion to what you put into it.” The level of fitness that you have thus achieved is in direction proportion to the effort you have in. If you’re maximizing your workout, then you will inevitably receive your max. It is essential that you put in your maximum effort each day. Your level of fitness is yours; you own it.
